A brutal murder took place on Friday morning in Alexandroupolis. An 81-year-old man killed his 73-year-old wife with a screwdriver. Immediately after his heinous act, he attempted suicide by drinking bleach.
The authorities were alerted around 9:10 in the morning by neighbors in the area of Plotinoupoleos Street, who heard commotion and screams from the couple's residence.
In particular, according to information, around 9:08, a neighbor saw the elderly man go out on the balcony and shout "I killed my wife".
When the police arrived at the scene, they found the 73-year-old woman dead and the 81-year-old man in a bad condition from his suicide attempt. The elderly man was rushed to the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis (PGNA), where he is being treated.
