Journalists from all over Greece join their voices with Greek society and the trade union movement.

The Athenian-Macedonian News Agency will not broadcast news or update its websites, from 05:00 on Wednesday to 05:00 on Thursday, March 16, 2023, due to the 24-hour strike of all journalists.

All the journalistic associations, ESIEA, ESPIT, ESIEMT, ESIETHSTE-E, ESIEPIN, are carrying out a 24-hour strike mobilization from 05.00 am on Wednesday 15/3/2022 to 05.00 am on Thursday, supporting the universal demand that the real responsibilities for the crime of Tempe, and that all measures be taken so that no more victims are mourned.

Journalists demand:

• Journalism for the control of all power, with the public interest as a criterion, outside of business and party agendas

• Security in citizens' movements and workplaces.

• SSE in all media. Journalists and media workers must finally stop being held hostage by anarchic working conditions and very low pay. Information is a good and a democratic guarantee and its servants claim their professional and working dignity.

• Information with credibility and pluralism We call on colleagues to continue working tirelessly to reveal all the parameters that led to the tragedy that has shocked Greece and the world.

• The vast majority of journalists seek to honor their mission. That is why we call on the owners of the media to leave their colleagues to prioritize and evaluate the facts, because they are judged every day, just as individual persons are judged, whose public positions provoke the common feeling.
