The images from a center for autistic children in Attica cause horror and disgust. The protagonist of the video that saw the light of day was a physiotherapist, working in this structure who brutally hits a child.
As seen in the video published by ethnos.gr, the man kicks the child in the face, then he falls down and continues to drag him, while the other children are in the same place. The other two teachers remain on the spot without trying to stop him with one of the two after a few seconds going towards him.
The incident took place in 2019
The incident happened in the summer of 2019 and according to the same publication, the scientific manager of the center confirmed the incident and even stated that the day after the incident, the specific physiotherapist left his job voluntarily. She claims that she found out about it five days after the incident and contacted the child's parents while telling the physiotherapist not to work in a structure with children again.
She also states that she made a complaint at the beginning on January 12, 2022, that is, 18 months later because, as she mentioned, she now learned that the physiotherapist had resumed work at a center for children with special needs. Physiotherapist details are available on the website.
The operating status of the centerAccording to the same information, the specific center is not in the registers of the Ministry of Labor, having not applied to obtain a relevant certificate while it does not have a contract with EOPPY.
On behalf of the Attica Regional Department of the Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists, the secretary Stavros Stathopoulos, states that any complaint that comes in writing or electronically, is forwarded to the competent bodies which are addressed for legal proceedings.
