In more detail, according to, the 71-year-old man who drowned was of Bulgarian origin. The tragic incident happened around 19:00 on Wednesday afternoon, as noted by the local site, when a grandfather and grandson, who were renting a house in the area, were on the beach.

How the accident happened

The child, according to the same publication, was in the sea with a white inflatable mattress, however, he was carried away by the currents and the wind, causing him to drift away.

Immediately there was a mobilization to save the child and two men using a canoe approached him and managed to get him out safe and sound. At the same time, the grandfather of the little child, seeing his grandson running away, ran into the sea trying to save him.

However, it seems that his strength left him and he died in the sea. After bathing, they took him to land and notified the EMS. Until the ambulance arrived, two volunteers gave him CPR, but it was not possible to save him.

His body was sent for a necropsy, while the circumstances under which the death occurred are being investigated.
