Incidents in the center of Athens after the rallies – 10 arrests were made

Incidents occurred around 1.30 in the afternoon in Syntagma Square where a group of unknown people clashed with the police forces. The unknowns threw Molotov cocktails, stones and other objects at the police, who responded by using chemicals.

According to information, the incidents started in the lower part of the square and then extended to the upper part.

The tension then moved to Panepistimi Street, where the police continued to clash with a group of people, who broke shop windows and set fire to bins. Minor tensions also occurred in Omonia Square and Patision Street.

And while everything seemed to have cleared up and the streets in the center of Athens had partially opened, a new round of tension outside the Propylaia began shortly before 3:XNUMX p.m.

As it became known from the Police, so far 10 people have been arrested, 6 from the pre-checks and 4 from the incidents.
