Evia is the most tested area since Wednesday morning after the severe weather conditions that are ongoing due to the bad weather Elias in Greece, while shortly after 10 am a message was sent from 112 for those in Mantoudi for dangerous weather phenomena and risk of overflowing rivers.
"The water has reached one meter in the village" declared the mayor of Mantoudi earlier. "The water that has fallen since 3 in the morning has never happened again. We've been through storm Daniel and other storms and it's never been 150mm in a few hours before. And Kireas is ready to overflow. We call on all citizens not to move unnecessarily, there is a danger from the transported materials that come down the mountains. We have told those near rivers to go to other areas. It's like a flood," he added speaking to ERT.
According to the director of EMY, Thodoris Kolydas, "special gravity" will be brought by bad weather Elias in the next few hours "in the wide area of Sperchiada - Partly southern Thessaly & Pelion"
According to local media, the road from south to north Evia has been cut in two due to a landslide in the village of Derveni. Forces of the Civil Protection move immediately to the spot as citizens are trapped in the village.
"The situation is shocking once again in Rovies, the river that passes through the village swelled and everything has been flooded. There is a big problem in the village," said a resident from Rovies to evima.gr.
Indicative is the fact that the meteorological station in Vateri Evia recorded 198 millimeters of rain until 8:30 am on Wednesday.
The new wave of bad weather started in Central Greece shortly after 3 am. In North Evia there were rapid rains with intense lightning activity, with the result that houses were flooded and calls to the Fire Service were continuous. The phenomena are particularly intense in Istiaia and the wider region. Landslides have occurred, but on a small scale, while the fire department is called to remove trees that have been uprooted.

From 4 in the morning Chalkida is tested. A large volume of water is falling into the city, with the fire service stepping in to pump water out of flooded basements. Shortly after 5:00 a.m. there was a power outage in a large area north of Chalkida, while the lightning activity is unrelenting.
At the same time, the rainfall is intense in Fthiotida and especially in the area of Lamia. From 5 in the morning it rains continuously, with intervals where the precipitation is rapid, reaching up to 110 cubic meters per acre. However, so far no serious problems have been identified, apart from flooded basements on the south side of the city, with the fire brigade having started interventions to pump out the water. Besides, many of the residents in the village of Komma spent the night in the community office, where an alarm had been raised since yesterday, due to the threat of overflowing of the Sperchios river.
From 6 am onwards, the wave of bad weather is over the Atalanti region, while it continues to rain heavily in Lamia. Schools remain closed today in Lamia as well as in Domokos, Makrakomi and Stylida. In some areas of Chalkida, Boeotia, but also of Fokida, the rainfall was rapid and according to the data of the meteorological stations, up to 150 tons of water fell on each acre.
Attica "woke up" with storms
Attica "woke up" with a storm and several lightning strikes from the bad weather Elias, but so far no serious problems have been caused. At the same time, as the governor of Attica, Giorgos Patoulis, clarified, the schools will remain open in the basin as the prognostic data show a recession of the phenomena in the next few hours.

Flooding also in Patras
Heavy rains, but also storms are the main characteristics of the bad weather wave that has been affecting many areas of Achaia since yesterday afternoon.
In particular, due to the storms, transported materials fell in parts of the provincial road Pountas-Kalavryton, but also on the provincial road Valimis-Zarouchlas, in Aegialia. In the two aforementioned areas, local government machinery was found to remove the transported materials from the road surface.
In Patras, due to the heavy rainfall, water accumulation was recorded in parts of the road surface of the coastal avenue, Akti Dymaion, while the fire department received a small number of calls for water responses. Also, calls for water responses were also received by the Aegio fire department.
In the meantime, through the detour of the traffic flow towards Patras, traffic continues on a section of the Patras-Athens highway, at the height of Aegialia, in the direction of Athens, which has been closed since the afternoon of last Monday, due to mudflows and materials brought from burnt areas. The detour has been put into effect from the Eleonas toll station at the 163,5th kilometer, to the 160,6th kilometer.
