Hellenic Train issued a statement on Thursday morning detailing what the carriages of the fatal train in the Tempi tragedy were carrying.
The company claims in its announcement that the 13-car train carried:
– In the first three, which were derailed, wide rolled iron products (sheet metal)
– The remaining ten that contained containers carried:
• Food preparations (4th – 7th wagon)
• Beers (8th – 9th wagon)
• Iron wires (10th – 11th wagon)
• Empty containers (12th – 13th wagon)
"According to our company's records and according to the customer/forwarder's declaration, the contents of the sealed containers, as provided for by national and international regulations for the transport of goods by rail, have been recorded in detail on the composition sheet and have been made available to the authorities," Hellenic Train concludes in its announcement.

With a view to fully clarifying the tragedy in Tempi, Hellenic Train reiterates its firm commitment to cooperation, from the very beginning, by providing all available information, with absolute transparency and responsibility to every competent authority.
With respect to the request of the victims' families and society for the truth, the company continues to actively contribute to the investigation of the case.
The company has already delivered all the required data to the competent authorities and has answered all relevant questions. The issue of the cargo of freight train 63501 has already been clarified, in the context of Question 2506/03.03.2023, submitted to the Greek Parliament.
