What parent would not want to know what bothers their baby when he cries? Now he can learn it easily, thanks to the application created by three 22-year-old students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki together with their responsible professor!
The iCry2Talk app records the crying of babies up to one year old and translates it, so parents can understand what it's in eight seconds!
The global innovation of undergraduate students Andreas Loutzidis, Anastasia Dracha and Iasonas Hatzikostas and Professor Leontios Hatzileontiadis qualified for the world final of the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2018, which will take place at the end of July in Seattle, USA.
To create the app, which will soon be available on smartphones and tablets, they collected and processed hundreds of samples of one-year-old baby crying. Along the way with deep machine learning techniques they categorized crying into groups of discomfort (cold and heat), hunger, diaper change, pain and more!
"ICry2Talk is a low-cost proposal for a non-invasive, intelligent interface between the baby and the parent," explains Andreas Loutzidis.
The innovative team creates a second application for the interaction and exchange of knowledge between special and new parents, whom they invite to "donate" their baby's crying by sending it to icry2talkinfo@gmail.com.
