The shameful videos that testify to the physical abuse that the three-year-old boy was receiving in Heraklion, Crete, by his mother and her partner, and which were found on the 44-year-old man's cell phone, made the police officers break down.
The images of the marks from the blows on the little boy's head and legs, as well as the scars on his body from cigarette burns, are shocking. They demonstrate the torture that three-year-old Angelos experienced at the hands of his mother and her partner.
According to information from neakriti.gr, in the videos in question, the 44-year-old is seen recording with a camera in order to create an alibi, to show that he had no involvement in the abuse and not be found guilty. In this way, he is allegedly implying that little Angelos' mother was the one who had abused him.
The 26-year-old mother and her 44-year-old partner were taken to court yesterday morning, with the man reportedly claiming that the child fell and hit his head, while the mother said she was away from home and when she returned she found her child unconscious.
The couple, who were given a deadline to plead guilty on Wednesday, are charged with attempted murder by complicity in a calm state of mind, causing grievous bodily harm by complicity and by continuation, use of a weapon by complicity, and supply and possession of drugs for personal and exclusive use.

3-year-old Angelos is fighting for his life
The child has suffered severe head injuries, numerous bruises and abrasions. He has already undergone surgery for some of his injuries and is hospitalized in the PAGNIS Children's ICU in critical condition.
According to the commander of PAGNIS, Giorgos Chalkiadakis, his condition is very difficult to reverse.
"The night was calm, we had no change in substance. The child remains in a difficult situation, intubated with increased intracranial pressure and this is what worries us. Everything that could be given to reduce this pressure has not worked," the PAGNI commander said this morning.
As he added, however, "there are signs, as determined by the forensic examination, that are from both recent and previous abuse."
"One of the two is a drug user"
The press representative of the Hellenic Police, Constantia Dimoglidou, in an interview pointed out: "A forensic examination has been ordered for the child to see how long he was abused by these people. You understand that the situation is quite serious and we do not know if a forensic doctor can still examine him, but certainly the first picture that the doctors gave the police is serious. The child has injuries, which are not from the same day and he has been abused quite a bit. The two perpetrators accuse each other while one of the two is a drug user. Also, an investigation was conducted by the Hellenic Police in the house where the child was abused and a lot of evidence has been destroyed while there are photos of the entire area from which they will be considered along with the rest of the case file."
