Crete: The woman who developed thrombocytopenia after her vaccination died of cerebral palsy

According to the local website Cretapost24, the clinical picture of the 44-year-old woman showed a new deterioration and the treating doctors have already informed her family.

The 44-year-old is a mother of three children. It is recalled that the 44-year-old, seven days after the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, began to show the first symptoms.

Transferred to Venizelio hospital and she was admitted to the Hematology of the hospital with the doctors closely monitoring the course of her health from the first moment.

The results of the first examinations carried out in a hospital in Athens, showed a "weak connection with Vitt syndrome" which is also found as a side effect of the vaccine. Astra Zeneca.

The 44-year-old then developed thrombosis (had developed thrombocytopenia) and hematoma on the head, so on Wednesday it was decided to transfer her from Venizelio Hospital to PAGNI, after the correct, as it turned out, prediction of the doctors, that her condition will worsen and she will have to be treated by specialties, which Venizelio does not have.

He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital from the beginning and presented with cerebral hemorrhage shortly after noon.

The 44-year-old has suffered an extreme rare but known in the scientific community syndrome, the vaccine-induced thrombocytopenic syndrome, which occurs in one person in a population of 200.000.

A closer and more common syndrome that has the same symptoms is heparin-induced thrombocytopenic syndrome, which occurs in 0,1%.

These syndromes cause at the same time platelet drop, i.e. bleeding and blood clotting, i.e. clots.

According to scientists who spoke to ERT, the syndrome is due to vaccine can occur after vaccination, from any vaccine that works with the AstraZeneca mechanism, but it is extremely rare.

The 44-year-old is being treated in a critical condition in the intensive care unit and the doctors are applying all the protocols to deal with this really intractable condition.

In the meantime, the provisional report was issued yesterday by the pharmacovigilance committee of the EOF, according to which at least two of the three cases of thrombosis, the 35-year-old and the 44-year-old, are related to the vaccine of Astra Zeneca.

The case of the 47-year-old, who is being treated at the neurological clinic of PAGNI with symptoms of paralysis, is still under investigation.

The woman was admitted extraordinarily yesterday afternoon, Friday, at surgery as well the new computed tomography scan he underwent at noon, showed extensive cerebral hemorrhage as a result, the doctors who monitor her deem the surgery necessary.

Her condition is considered particularly critical and that is why the doctors, according to the local website neakriti.gr, asked her husband to give them authorization to undergo emergency surgery.
