On Wednesday afternoon, the mother of the minor girl was arrested, with the basic charge of aggravated pimping. Two lawyers visited her at GADA. She pleads not guilty, denying the accusations of pimping.
"We did not expect this development, we were surprised. He denies the charges. She cries, says she will kill herself, don't take her children away, she is afraid. The investigator is expected to personify other criminal charges against her," says the lawyer of the 12-year-old's family, Aspasia Tarahopoulou.
The 12-year-old was also at the General Police Directorate of Attica since the afternoon for a supplementary statement, while the same is expected for her minor brothers.
The mother of the 12-year-old is expected to be brought before the investigator today.
"Under the microscope" banking transactions
The officers of the police authorities allegedly had evidence of the mother's banking transactions, phone calls and messages, regarding the sexual exploitation of her child, while in house searches they are looking for other evidence of her participation.
The president of the Anti-Black Money Authority ordered that all the bank accounts of the 12-year-old's mother be opened, as well as the bank accounts of the 53-year-old's family members for suspicious money flows.
"And there are also two remittances that I know of without having received a case file that the child had made. The child had taken the mother's credit card and bank account and the accused had put two amounts there: 20 and 25 euros," said lawyer Apostolos Lytras.
The remittances she received in her account are, according to information, much more and, although she allegedly claims that they come from the work she offered in the mini market of 53-year-old Ilias Michos, everything points to the fact that they are money from the prostitution of her child .
