Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced support measures for low-income pensioners and renters, as well as public investments, after the publication of data on Greece's fiscal performance by ELSTAT and Eurostat.
Specifically, the Greek Prime Minister announced permanent measures of 1 billion in three directions.
The first concerns primary residence tenants who will receive a full rent refund every year in November.
The second measure is aimed at 1,5 million low-income pensioners, uninsured elderly people and people with disabilities. Categories that, starting this year, will be supported on a permanent basis with 250 euros net extra on each of their incomes. The amount will be paid at the end of November.
The third government decision concerns the increase of 500 million annually in the Public Investment Program, with the aim of accelerating public works, as well as social actions throughout the territory, but also, amid international instability, to increase investments to continue creating new jobs, as emphasized by Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
"Our priorities remain the interests of the homeland and the regeneration of society. Not with false words and cheap slogans, but with true actions and visible solutions, facing with realism every temporary obstacle, but also with responsibility every irresponsible propaganda that opens back doors to new adventures," he said.
In other words, Mr. Mitsotakis concluded, "by walking along the path marked out by the direction of 'we said it, we did it' and having the certainty and self-confidence that the times demand, because we still have much to claim and much to conquer."
It is noted that the measures will be specified by the Minister of Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
