An unspeakable tragedy took place tonight in Glyfada, when Panathinaikos football player George Baldock was found unconscious in the swimming pool of his home. A little later, Baldock's death was certified by the doctor of the EKAB mobile unit from the Voula station, who was called by the owner of the house.
According to information from protothema.gr, the footballer's wife, who is in England, searched for him for many hours, without being able to locate him, as a result of which she contacted the owner of the villa where the 31-year-old ace lives, asking him to go to the point and see what happens.
And so it happened, with the man spotting the 31-year-old unconscious in the pool and immediately alerting, at 22:29 p.m., the EMS, which rushed to the scene. The EMS, which arrived at 22:38, waited for Security to clarify what had happened, as, according to the protocol, when a death is certified in a home, Signaling takes over. A medical examiner was called to the scene, while ELAS men examine the footage from the house's cameras and take statements from neighbors.
According to the first information, they did not hear anything, there was no noise.
The international ace was in Athens, as he did not participate in the National team's mission for the match against England at Wembley. His body bears no marks, wounds or bruises. When the EMS arrived at the scene, the police, according to information, had retrieved the unfortunate Baldock, who was wearing his swimsuit, from the bottom of the pool.
Outside the house of the unfortunate Baldoc, Giorgos Tzavellas, director of the football department of Panathinaikos, players of the club, as well as Spyros Vlachos, operations director of PAE Panathinaikos, were found, who, devastated, could not realize the magnitude of the tragedy.
