The popular pilgrimage to the body of Mikis Theodorakis, in the chapel of Agios Eleftherios, in the Diocese of Athens, is completed today.

For the past two days, people of all ages have rushed to say goodbye to the great Greek composer. At 15:00 will follow the farewell ceremony, where funerals will be held. The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece Dimitris Koutsoumbas will speak.

It is noted that the Republic of Cyprus will be represented by the Minister of Education, Prodromos Prodromou.

On Thursday morning, Theodorakis' body will be transported to Chania, to his last residence as he wished. According to the procedure for the funeral, as it was officially announced, the arrival of the body will take place on Thursday morning at 7.30 in the port of Souda.

A procession will follow to the square of the Municipal Market of Chania and then it will be accompanied on foot to the Diocese of Chania where it will be placed until 12.00 at noon in a popular pilgrimage.

The body will then be transported by truck to I.N. Agios Nikolaos in Galatas where an exit service will be held at 13.00 at noon.

After the completion of the procession, the body will be accompanied on foot to the cemetery of Galatas for burial.

The program was officially announced by the mayor of Chania after consultation with the Pancretan Association of Friends Mikis Theodorakis and the plenipotentiary president, George Agorastakis.
