The situation in Volos is typical, where houses have been left without electricity and on Wednesday night (27/9) dozens of citizens were released. At the same time, evacuations of villages are taking place in Fthiotida, Larissa and Karditsa.
According to information, the Fire Department has 800 calls for assistance in the wider area of Volos, of which over 300 concern trapped residents. At the same time, in the last few minutes the calls for water shortages and entrapments in Palama Karditsa, as well as villages of Larissa and Domokos, are increasing.
Barrage of messages from 112 in Thessaly
With a new notification, 112 calls on the residents of the areas: Anochori, Katochori, Vasili, Hyperia, Mikro Evdrio, Megalo_Evdrio, Pyrgakia, Polineri and Stavros to evacuate towards Farsala.
The residents of the areas of Lefki, Orfana, Phyllo and Astritsa also received a message from 112 with the civil protection calling them to move away towards Itea. Residents of the settlement of Achilleio also received a notification with an order to evacuate via the Larisa Volos regional road towards Larissa.

Shortly before 19:00 on Wednesday, a message was sent to Volos for a traffic ban due to the dangerous weather conditions, while in a statement issued by the municipality, it urged residents to stay at home:
"The worst scenarios for the development of the new bad weather affecting our city are unfortunately confirmed. The police have already prohibited the movement of vehicles and we appeal to the citizens to cooperate and follow the instructions of the authorities. Do not move primarily for your own safety and then to facilitate the work of the crews who are putting up a real titanic fight."
The mayor of Volos, Achilleas Beos, spoke of a difficult night, while schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. "The situation in the city is out of control, stay home," he said, as broadcast by ERT.
