From the beginning, Greece has maintained a pro-Israel stance and both the Greek Navy and the entire NATO naval presence in the region are currently on high alert.
The Psara frigate has reportedly been deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean as part of NATO's Enhanced Readiness Force, along with vessels from other member states.
Heading for the waters near Israel, the USS Gerald R. Ford is currently underway with escort ships, which have entered the Eastern Mediterranean area.
So far, 1 aircraft carrier, 7 destroyers, 4 frigates and 1 cruiser have been deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as an unknown number of submarines, support ships and aircraft as well as the Airborne Strike Group.
