A senior officer in the Peloponnese was made available by decision of the ELAS leader, who allegedly asked a citizen in the village of Chora Gortynias, who asked him to send a fire truck to save his house from the flames, if he had political means. At the same time, a Sworn Administrative Examination was ordered for the case.

This reaction of the ELAS headquarters came after a video that is circulating on the internet and shows the citizen talking on a TV channel about the fire that reached his village and his house, who mentions his comparative conversation with the officer.

In particular, the citizen says that he called the officer at the Arcadia Police Department and asked him for a fire truck to save his house. He contacted the Fire Department, which he refused and then, always according to the citizen's testimony, asked him if he had any political means.

Following the release of this video, the headquarters of ELAS issued a statement in the morning, which states: A Sworn Administrative Examination was ordered, while in parallel with a decision of the Chief of the Hellenic Police, the said officer was made available ".

The fire in the area of ​​Gortynia that passed through Ilia has caused great damage, with the situation remaining difficult, according to the deputy governor of Arcadia, Christos Lambropoulos.

As he pointed out, "two more settlements were evacuated and the fire threatened the Livadaki settlement, but the Fire Brigade managed to keep the flames away from the houses, while the Tumbitsi settlement was also in danger." At the same time, the deputy governor noted that "apart from the fire brigade, eight construction machines of the Peloponnese Region, as well as the municipality, are operating at the site, while individuals are helping voluntarily with their own machines".
