The public and private sectors are paralyzed today due to the 24-hour strike declared by GSEE, ADEDY and the labor unions, protesting the precision that affects households and businesses.

The strike rallies

GSEE and ADEDY invite the workers to attend the rally planned for 11:00 in the morning in Klathmonos Square as well as local rallies in all major cities of the country, while PAME has set an appointment in Propylaia on 10.30 am

"Employees, together with the unions, are fighting against the precision that is suffocating Greek households, the labor jungle conditions that prevail, against the burdens they have been carrying on their backs for years. It is necessary and necessary to take substantial measures against punctuality after the rapid increases in energy costs and the soaring prices of basic necessities" says GSEE in a statement. As he points out, "now more than at any other time, a brave increase in the minimum wage is necessary as well as the restoration of collective labor law, with universal validity of collective agreements in all sectors of the economy".

For its part, ADEDY notes that "the steep rise in the prices of electricity, fuel, and basic necessities, the inflation running at 12% dissipates the income of workers, impoverishes and impoverishes them". "Now, the time has come to put an end to this policy that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer," he emphasizes, adding that public sector workers are demanding increases in their salaries "to live with dignity."

No Metro, buses and trolleys

Movements in the basin will be hampered today, as with newer decisions by the workers, Athens will be left without Metro (lines 2&3), without Buses and Trolleys.

Transport workers are covered by the GSEE announcement, which "denounces the anti-labor and anti-social coordination for the judicial obstruction of the participation of transport workers in the Pan-Hellenic All-Work Strike of November 9, 2022" stating that the strike is legal and the announcement is already known since September 15, which was unanimously decided by the Plenary of its Management.

It is noted that the decision of the employees was deemed abusive and illegal. However, they stand by their decisions to participate in the GSEE 24-hour strike, either through work stoppages or a general strike.

How ISAP, Tram and Suburban will move

The Tram workers will carry out the work stop they had announced as normal and so the trains will run from 8 in the morning to 10 in the evening while on Line 1 of the Metro (formerly Electric) the routes will be carried out from 9 in the morning until at 5 in the afternoon.

The railway workers (trains – suburban railway) also participate in the 24-hour strike of the GSEE.
