The request of the mayor of Rhodes, Alexandros Koliadis, was accepted, and the island was declared this morning in a state of emergency, in order to proceed immediately with the compensation procedures and the execution of the necessary works, after the disasters caused by the bad weather Bora.
The unprecedented bad weather that hit the northern part of the island on Saturday night and Sunday caused enormous damage to houses, businesses, cars and infrastructure, with Ialyssos at the center of the destruction.
A traffic ban has been in effect on the island since yesterday, due to the problems in the road network, while kindergartens, primary schools, high schools and high schools on the island will remain closed today Monday.
