Thessaloniki is moving to the rhythm of tomorrow's opening of the Metro and today, at 6 pm, the unveiling of the Venizelos Station will take place.
The first visitors will be the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who will be guided by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni to the archaeological site and the findings of the excavations.
The minister has characterized the Venizelos Station as the best Metro Station in the world, because it combines the function of a unique Museum with the antiquities brought to light by the excavations, among them those that were temporarily removed due to the construction of the project, and were re-located in the same positions.
In total, during the construction of the Metro, more than 300.000 archaeological finds came to light.
