Hearts were broken during the parade of the Military Officers' Academy (SSAS) on the coastal Avenue of Great Alexander in Thessaloniki. Claudia Lata, just 21 years old, was a student at this school, one of the youngest victims of the Tempi tragedy.
Her fellow students did not forget her and shouted her name loudly and rhythmically as they passed in front of the podium, as well as some verses.
"You were young, very young, twenty-one years old,
beautiful as an angel, painted
but you disappeared in an instant
on these rails
which also extinguished other souls.
And now you from above
A guard post for all of us.
That's why I don't forget you either,
Claudia, I love you!
