Mourning in Rhodes: 16-year-old died of high fever

Grief on the island of Rhodes, for the death of a 16-year-old child, who succumbed to the Children's Hospital where he was transported on Tuesday night with a high fever.

According to Rodiaki, 16-year-old Lefteris was initially admitted to the Rhodes Hospital with a high fever. Doctors managed to temporarily treat his health condition and alleviate the fever.

On Monday, Lefteris was discharged from the hospital, but that night he was re-admitted because his health had deteriorated, with a high fever again.

An order was given by the doctors and in consultation with EKAB he was transported by Super Puma helicopter to the Children's Hospital.

Despite the efforts of doctors and strong medication, the fever did not subside, resulting in complications that led to his death. The exact causes that led to the death of the 16-year-old boy are expected to be officially determined after the completion of all examinations, within the next few hours.

According to a family, the procession will take place on Friday, May 27 at 17:00 from the Holy Temple of the Holy Cross of Apollo. The message of the father that he posted on his internet account, breaks hearts:

"Have a good trip, my angel, you will be deep in our hearts forever."
