At midnight on Easter Monday, when 19-year-old Myrto got into her 23-year-old boyfriend's car, no one could have predicted that she was setting off not for a night of fun, as two young people deserve, but that the countdown to her (short) life was beginning.

As the puzzle of what happened that fateful night is completed so that in less than five hours the girl was found unconscious in the square of Argostoli, the questions that arise remain unanswered:

-What was the girl's psychological state and why did she ask to "drink", that is, use cocaine, according to what her 23-year-old boyfriend said?

-Was it the first time that Myrto, who would have turned 19 in August, used drugs?

– How did the "hangout" at the Airbnb with music and conversation turn into a drug party?

-How did the three young men who saw Myrto bleeding to death choose to leave her on the street, instead of taking her to the hospital, which is about 500 meters from the point where the EKAB picked her up?

The three young men involved in the case are expected to testify on Friday.

The initial case filed against them concerned the felony charge of exposure to danger, however, the prosecutor upgraded the indictment and prosecuted them for intentional homicide by omission, as well as for a particularly distinguished case of possession and use of narcotics.

According to the coroner's report, Myrto died of a cardiac arrest and it is now known from the testimonies of those arrested that she had used cocaine beforehand, which is expected to be formally confirmed by toxicological tests, which will be included in the case file against them.

It is noted that both the 26-year-old former weightlifter and the 22-year-old defendant of Albanian origin have previously been in the police's custody for various offenses.

According to what Myrto's 23-year-old boyfriend, with whom she had gone to the rented room, which the girl had paid for through IRIS, allegedly said in his pre-trial statement, the young man essentially "points" to the dead girl as responsible for the turn things took, since in his version, he claimed that on the night of Easter Monday they had arranged to "hang out" at an Airbnb to listen to music and talk, when the 19-year-old asked "for a drink."

However, when, according to his own words, she asked for cocaine, for the 23-year-old, obtaining the drugs was an easy task.

"I told her that I know someone who deals with such things and I called … (ed. the former weightlifter) via Instagram and told him that we wanted a piece. He came to the apartment, about 15 minutes after we called him, and brought us a bag of cocaine and Myrto paid for it. I don't know how much money she gave him. He sat with us for about half an hour, where we talked and laughed. Myrto had already done coke while the three of us were there. … (ed. the former weightlifter) left and came back after a while and brought another amount of cocaine, which Myrto persistently asked for. At some point, … (… the 22-year-old from Albania) came, whom the former weightlifter called and came and sat with us," the 23-year-old defendant said in his pre-trial statement.

The girl soon showed that she was not well, which the three young men noticed, as the 23-year-old accused allegedly admitted indirectly but clearly when apologizing to the police authorities, after, according to information, he said:

"At one point, I told Myrto to stop and not do any more coke, because I told her that I could see that she had gone a little crazy. I went out on the balcony and at one point I saw her having convulsions, shaking and sitting on the bed. I thought she was doing it for fun, but she continued and we realized that something was wrong. We tried to help her, but she was not coming to her senses. (…) Then I decided to call an ambulance and the other two told me that we were afraid to call the ambulance so that they wouldn't get involved. (…) Then they told me that they would take her down and say that they found her on the street. The former weightlifter took her in his arms unconscious and took her down. I tried to gather everything from there in the apartment, as we had some champagne, juices and other things."

"At some point the (athlete) came back and told me that the ambulance had taken her and that she was fine. (…) I took her cell phone, walked to the hospital, where I saw her parents and the police and was afraid to leave it, lest I get in trouble. I walked to the cafeteria… where I told them that a girl named Myrto would come to pick it up later," he told the authorities.

After Myrto's death was determined, despite the CPR efforts of both the EKAB rescuers and the doctors at the hospital, the police were notified. When she was found, the girl was wearing her clothes and had no injuries that would suggest a criminal act.

Her father, who had Myrto at the age of 62 and lived not to see her grow up, to take her life into her own hands, but to see her on the frozen bed of the morgue, is trying to understand how his beautiful Myrto, "the goddess", the "doll", as he called her, left in this way. How much more so, when he, in order to protect her, had urged her to attend the Nursing School in Argostoli and not to leave for Athens and the dangers she feared. And it was he, the father, who warned her about the "demons with angelic faces" that she had to beware of.

Myrto's mother, devastated after her daughter's tragic death, failed to give a statement to the police authorities about the last communications with her daughter.

The police, after being notified by the hospital of the 19-year-old girl's death, followed the trail of her last movements. Very quickly, the store cameras at the place where Myrto was found unconscious unraveled the mystery. They arrived at the rental and the video footage made it clear that the three young men had abandoned Myrto on the street, depriving her of her last chance to stay alive.

According to what has been known so far, the chronology of death is as follows:

Specifically:
– At approximately 00:27, Myrto entered the apartment building where the rented room is located with a friend of hers (the 23-year-old).
– At 2:21, the former weightlifter entered the apartment building and climbed the stairs.
– At approximately 2.52, the former athlete left the apartment building and returned at 3.11.
– At approximately 3:27, the 22-year-old man of Albanian origin entered the apartment building holding a mobile phone in his hand.
– At 4:31, the 22-year-old from Albania is seen coming down the stairs, followed by the former weightlifter holding Myrto in his arms.
– At 4.46, the former athlete is seen again leaving the apartment building, without his entry being recorded.
– At 5.14, Myrto's boyfriend (the third of those arrested) leaves the apartment building and, as the police investigation showed, remained in the room in order, together with the former weightlifter, to clean it and hide the 19-year-old's cell phone.

It should be noted that the three young men claimed to the emergency room that they did not know the unfortunate girl. Now, they are being called to testify on Friday morning for the very serious charges against them.
