A game warden was injured on Wednesday during an incident with poachers in the Ergaten area.
According to information from CNA, at around 13.30:XNUMX p.m. on Wednesday, the Hunting Service spotted a vehicle moving and its occupants firing shots in a restricted area in the village of Ergates in the Nicosia district.
As reported, the Game Wardens, with the headlights on their vehicle, signaled the driver to stop while he sped away to escape, resulting in a collision with the official vehicle of the Game Service.
The driver then fled the scene, according to the information. The 36-year-old driver was identified, however, after being located, he was summoned to the Lakatamia Police Station for a statement. He was subsequently released to be summoned later.
According to the same information, during the collision of the vehicles, one of the doormen was injured and taken to the First Aid Department for treatment. After receiving First Aid, he was discharged.
The Lakatamia Police Station is investigating the incident.
