Samsung Electronics Co Ltd today hinted that the commercial launch of the Galaxy S8 smartphone will be delayed in order to enhance its security, following an investigation into the cause of the ignition in the Note 7 devices.
After months of research by the world's leading mobile device maker, it announced that defective batteries from two of its suppliers had caused the Note 7 to fail commercially, reducing operating profit by $ 5,3 billion for Samsung.
According to Samsung, the application of practices has been activated in order not to repeat the self-ignition incidents on its mobile devices, while the commercial promotion of the Galaxy S8 will take place in 2017.
