A quantity of cannabis that exceeds 3,5 kg was seized yesterday by YKAN, while to facilitate the investigations, an 18-year-old resident of Limassol was arrested and taken into custody.
Specifically, shortly after noon yesterday, an unknown person went to a courier company in Limassol, where he delivered a package, with the intention of delivering it to a specific address, in a foreign country. Due to the strong smell emerging from the parcel, suspicions were raised that it might contain narcotic substances and the National Health Service was informed.
Members of YKAN went to the company's offices and from an inspection they carried out on the parcel, they found that inside it there were four packages, containing a quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of three kilograms and approximately 500 grams.
From the continuation of the examinations, a testimony was obtained against an 18-year-old resident of Limassol, who was arrested a little later by virtue of a court warrant, to facilitate the investigations.
A search of his home followed, during which a quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of 14 grams, was located and seized. A precision scale, a crowbar and two mobile phones were also seized.
