By approximately 6%, the overall processing and final submission of Individual Income Statements, without Accounts, for the tax year 2023, up to Friday 29/11/2024, one day before the deadline, has exceeded last year's levels, he told KYPE the Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markidis, noting that approximately 306.800 taxpayers have submitted Final their Declaration.
At the same time, Mr. Markidis announced that within 2025 the clearance of the 2023 Returns will be completed and that most of the Individual Income Returns without accounts for the tax year 2022 have already been cleared.
Specifically, the Commissioner of Taxation told KYPE that "the process of timely submission of the Personal Income Statement without Accounts for the tax year 2023 through the Taxisnet system, is nearing its end since the deadline for submission without interest and charges is Saturday, November 30 2024".
"The process of electronic submission of Declarations and electronic payment of any taxes that may arise are progressing smoothly without any problems," he noted.
It said that about 315.300 taxpayers have processed their Return, of which about 306.800 taxpayers have Final Filed their Return and about 8.500 have processed their Return and have it in Provisional Receipt.
Additionally, he stated that the Tax Department plans to begin the process of processing the Declarations after the 2023 Declaration submission deadline has passed, and to complete its liquidation within 2025.
For those who have not yet definitively submitted their Declaration or are planning to do so immediately, Mr. Markidis emphasized that in order for the Declaration to be considered submitted it must be Final Submission and invited the public "to make sure that they have definitively submitted their Declaration, in order to avoid unpleasant consequences, such as a monetary charge of €100 and a notification for failure to submit a Declaration with similar consequences ».
He noted that the obligation to submit a Personal Income Statement for the tax year 2023 is for Employees, Retired and Self-Employed whose gross total income for the tax year 2023 exceeds the amount of €19.500.

Besides, the Commissioner of Taxation told KYPE that "recently, the liquidation of Individual Income Statements without accounts for the tax year 2022 has begun and most of the Statements have already been cleared."
He noted that "for the first time, the last submitted year is cleared before the next year's cut-off date".
"This is something we are very pleased with and has been achieved through detailed planning, systematic monitoring and persistence," he underlined.
Finally, Mr. Markidis thanked all the Tax Department Officers "for the great effort to achieve this goal".
