All interest rates, deposit and lending, decreased in November, with the exception of the lending rate to non-financial companies for amounts over €1 million, according to statistics published on Tuesday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
Deposit rates

Specifically, the interest rate for deposits with a term of up to one year from households decreased to 1,70%, compared to 1,76% the previous month, while the corresponding interest rate for deposits from non-financial companies decreased to 1,99%, in compared to 2,19% in the previous month.
Interest rates on loans

In terms of lending rates, the rate on consumer loans decreased to 6,99%, compared to 8% the previous month, and the rate on home loans decreased to 4,50%, compared to 4,62 % in the previous month.
The interest rate regarding loans to non-financial companies for amounts up to €1 million. also showed a decrease to 5,01%, compared to 5,45% the previous month, while the interest rate regarding loans to non-financial companies for amounts over €1 million. registered an increase to 4,97%, compared to 4,72% in the previous month.
Amounts of new loans

In November 2024 total new loans showed an increase and reached €635,7 million, compared to €533,8 million. last month, according to CBC data.
In more detail, new consumer loans increased to €25,3 million, of which €22,3 million. net new loans, compared to €21,3m the previous month, of which €20,2 million net new loans.
New loans for home purchase showed an increase to €129,5 million, of which €98,5 million net new loans, compared to €115,7m in the previous month, of which €96,1 million net new loans.
The new loans to non-financial companies for amounts up to €1 million. increased to €73,5 million, of which €57,8 million net new loans, compared to €57,3m the previous month, of which €41,8 million net new loans.
Finally, the new loans to non-financial companies for amounts over €1 million. recorded an increase to €398,2 million, of which €154,5 million net new loans, compared to €333,9m in the previous month, of which €201,8 million net new loans.
