The reduced VAT rate of 5%, instead of 9%, in some services is valid only for the period from 1/7/2020 - 10/1/2021, announced today the Tax Department.
Specifically, these services are, according to the Department, accommodation in hotels, tourist accommodation and similar places, including the provision of holiday accommodation, restaurant and catering services and passenger transport by urban, interurban and rural taxis and by tourist and intercity buses.
Therefore, the Tax Department states that from 11/01/2021 (inclusive), for these services a reduced VAT rate of 9% is imposed in accordance with the rules of the time of service as set out in the VAT Legislation and the relevant transitional provisions.
