Minus €213,0 million loans in October compared to September, increase in deposits

Total loans showed a net decrease of €213,0 million in October 2024, compared to September of the same year, while a net increase of €377,6 million. recorded the deposits, mainly due to the increase in the deposits of Cypriot residents.

Specifically, according to the Central Bank of Cyprus, total loans in October 2024 recorded a net decrease of €213,0 million, compared to a net increase of €107,3 million. in September 2024.

The annual rate of change of total loans reached 2,0%, remaining stable compared to September 2024. The balance of total loans in October 2024 reached €24,8 billion.

Loans to Cypriot residents showed a decrease of €130,4 million. More specifically, loans to households increased by €9,4 million, while loans to non-financial companies recorded a decrease of €132,2 million.

The loans of the remaining domestic sectors showed a total decrease of €7,6 million.

Moreover, according to the Central Bank, total deposits in October 2024 recorded a net increase of €377,6 million, compared to a net increase of €485,7 million. in September 2024.

The annual rate of change of total deposits reached 5,4%, compared to 4,5% in September 2024. The balance of total deposits in October 2024 reached €54,6 billion.

The deposits of Cypriot residents showed an increase of €230,2 million. In more detail, according to the Central Bank, the deposits of households and non-financial companies increased by €64,9 million. and €115,8 million respectively.

The deposits of the remaining domestic sectors showed a total increase of €49,4 million.
