According to the Central Bank, the total "fresh" credit granted in April 2022 amounted to 193,6 million compared to € 378 million last month, showing a decrease of 49%. On an annual basis, the granting of new loans recorded a significantly smaller decrease, at a rate of 9,1%.

All loan categories declined, with mortgages and loans over € 1 million (the largest loan categories) declining significantly.

In particular, consumer loans in April amounted to 11,4 million compared to € 12,3 million in the previous month, while mortgages fell to € 64,8 million compared to € 195,2 million in March. of 2022. It is noted that the constructions in general have been affected due to the large price increases in the raw materials.

New loans up to € 1 million amounted to € 44,4 million compared to € 68,3 million last month, while new loans over € 1 million fell to € 66,9 compared to € 95,4 million last month.

Total loans restructured in April stood at € 71m compared to € 128,7m the previous month.
