Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markides granted an additional 15-day grace period, until October 15, for the submission of tax returns for the year 2024.

Speaking on "Morning Schedule", senior officer of the Tax Department, Irini Ioannou, stated that the decision was made following consultation between the Tax Commissioner and the Minister of Finance.

He pointed out that, so far, approximately 90% of individuals who, based on gross total income, are required to do so have submitted a tax return.

Mrs. Ioannou reminded that, after the deadline expires, a fine of 100 euros and additional interest will be imposed if the declaration reveals tax due.
