President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides reiterated his absolute commitment to implementing the tax transformation as of January 1, 2026, on Tuesday, at the start of a meeting at the Presidential Palace. As he stated, this is the last meeting on the issue and he requested that all pending issues be resolved so that the bills can be forwarded to Parliament, without delay or change in the timetable.
According to a statement by the Presidency, at the start of a meeting at the Presidential Palace on the subject of tax transformation, the President of the Republic said that this is the last meeting convened in relation to tax transformation.
"So, today all the issues we have before us are finished, I also want to be informed about the preparation of the bills, so that we can proceed at the National Council level. Together with the Minister of Finance, we will make a final update to the parties and it will be sent to Parliament, because it will be put into operation on 1/1/2026. And I do not accept any deviation from the date I mentioned above, 1/1/2026," he said.
He added that anything pending will be discussed and agreed upon during the meeting, so that they can move forward.
