The Council of Ministers has decided to extend the electricity subsidy for vulnerable groups and businesses until the end of 2026.
The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, stated that with the decision, the subsidy for category “08” continues, with which thousands of households and businesses will benefit from a bill reduction.
The government's permanent policy, he said, is to boost the income of citizens, especially vulnerable groups, and this, he added, is done through multiple ways and at various levels.
He noted, for example, that boosting citizens' income is achieved through tax reform and maintaining the regime of zero and low VAT rates on various everyday products.
Referring to the effort to reach an agreement on the ATA, Mr. Keravnos said that there are ups and downs in the consultations, however, he expressed the belief that there will be a happy ending very soon.
