iPhone 5C, the new colorful iPhone is a fact with a price of € 639

The rumored iPhone 5C that we had seen repeatedly in the last few weeks became a reality on Tuesday night! This is a new device with a plastic cover that will be available in five different colors (white, green, blue, yellow and red) and is the first of two devices that will replace the iPhone 5.

Apple has chosen to build the iPhone 5C around a steel-reinforced frame that also acts as an antenna. The way it is produced and the general construction give it a feeling that does not fit any other device you may have seen. The front is made entirely of black glass while the back and sides are made of a unique piece of plastic. Apple has even created a series of cases with holes in the back ($ 29 each) to further personalize the look of your device in an admittedly special way and 30 possible combinations.

It is known to have a 4-inch Retina display with A6 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, new 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera for better-lit video calls and a slightly larger battery than the iPhone 5. It supports, of course, LTE (largest support in the world), 802.11a / b / g / n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and iOS 7.

The iPhone 5C will cost US $ 99 for the 16GB version and $ 199 for the 32GB version with a two-year contract. Prices without a contract are between $ 549 and $ 649 respectively!

Pre-orders start on September 13 and will go on sale on September 20 in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the UK.

The reasons for the existence of "C"

With the 5C, Apple has essentially put the tombstone in the iPhone 5, whose production is stopped, but the 4S will continue to be sold! In this way, Apple achieves only one thing: reducing its costs. It is enough to consider that until today Apple, when presenting an "S" model (eg 4S), continued to sell the previous model (eg 4), which was sold at a lower price, but the construction was exactly the same as the new model. Obviously this tactic was not profitable for Apple, especially in case the iPhone 5 is one of the most expensive smartphone constructions!

Is it that cheap after all?

Apple at Tuesday's event proved what it did with the iPad mini. In other words, it did not present a cheap version, but a "cheaper" version. After all, Apple would never build a mid-range phone for the masses and would never accept the term Cheap for the letter "C". The letter "C", moreover, symbolizes the material with which the device is made, ie the poly- "C" arbonade Plastic.

According to unconfirmed information we have so far, the iPhone 5C is expected to be released (in Greece) on Friday, October 18. The price of the iPhone 5C, always according to what has reached our ears, will range at € 639 for the 16GB model in the Greek market.

"Gold" we will pay as usual in Cyprus!

For Cyprus, things are strange, since mobile phone companies "charge gold" for iPhones. For this reason, do not expect to find in the Cypriot market a lower price of € 700! You should probably think carefully about the solution to buy it from the United Kingdom, which according to confirmed information costs 439 pounds, ie € 520 only from Apple stores!
