Three people, two trainees and a Fire Service instructor, were injured when the vehicle in which they were training overturned for a currently unknown reason on a rural road in the Alethrikos area of Larnaca province.
As Andreas Kettis, spokesperson for the Fire Service, told CNA this morning, "a fire truck in which two trainees were doing driving training on rural roads in Alethrikon, under circumstances that are being investigated, skidded and overturned."
He added that "the three occupants of the vehicle, two trainees and an instructor, were injured and transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital."
"The two trainees were provided with first aid and were released, however the instructor remains in the hospital for further examinations, with his health condition being good," he added.
As Mr. Kettis said, "the Police, the Fire Department and the Electromechanical Service will proceed with investigations in order to determine the reasons why the fire truck skidded and overturned."
