A higher diploma in forestry will be given by the Forestry College, which will accept its first students in September, said the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panagiotou to the Parliamentary Environment Committee.
The Ministry is in consultation with the Ministry of Education in order to finalize the admission criteria. According to what was heard within the Committee, the prospective students will be examined in 4 subjects: English, new Greek, mathematics and general knowledge, while the successful candidates will be invited to participate in a practical test. The final process will be announced by the beginning of April.
The Minister noted that in the process all the guidelines given by DIPAE for certification of the program are followed.
In addition, according to what the Minister informed, the Forestry College will open its doors within the current month for trainings for Local Authorities and volunteer trainings.
