The District Administrations should be addressed by the public for issues related to the Population Record, from Wednesday, November 20, 2024 onwards. As announced by the Ministry of the Interior, the service points located in the building that currently houses the Immigration Department are ceasing their operation.
It is noted in the announcement that this arrangement does not affect the applications received by the District Administrations, KEPs and KEPOs to date.
Specifically, for the issuance of a passport with an expedited procedure, it is announced that applications can be submitted to any District Administration, while the receipt of the passport will only be done by the Nicosia District Administration. For applications submitted by 12 noon, passports will be delivered to the citizen on the same day.
Alternatively, it is reminded that the public can use the new electronic services of the Population Register, which have been implemented since June 2024, for the reissuance of birth certificates and death certificates (including consular documents), the issuance of permanent residence certificates and attestations of origin for students, as well as the issuance/renewal of identity cards and passports for adults (www.gov.cy/services/).
