The application process for admission to the Public School of Higher Vocational Education and Training - MIEEK has begun, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (YPAN).
According to the announcement, the Study Programs will operate at the MIEEK branches in the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca, Famagusta, Limassol, Paphos and at the Absolute Institute of Technical Education (AITE) branch in Limassol.
The opening of the new MIEEK branches in the Famagusta district increases the available positions and additionally offers, for the first time, Study Programs in the English Language, aiming to cover the shortages in specialized human resources observed in the region, to support the local economy, through the provision of excellent vocational education and training, to create opportunities for all, regardless of linguistic or national background and to ensure the full employment of their students.
To secure a place to study at the Public School of Higher Vocational Education and Training - MIEEK, a points system is applied, which is governed by measurable and transparent criteria.
Applications for admission will be made electronically from the Ministry of Education and Culture website www.moec.gov.cy, or through the MIEEK website www.mieek.ac.cy.
Applications can be submitted online and began from Monday, June 16, until Thursday, August 21, 2025, while registrations for those who secure a place will take place within two weeks from the day the results are announced.
According to the announcement, the Study Programs of the Public School MIEEK are offered free of charge, are two years in duration and are certified by the Body for Quality Assurance and Certification of Higher Education (DIPAE).
In addition, they are competitive, innovative and based on the real needs of the labor market. They are aimed both at individuals seeking professional prospects, lifelong learning and rehabilitation, and at businesses seeking appropriately trained and certified personnel, or wishing to invest in their human resources, with the aim of upgrading their knowledge, acquiring skills, retraining and promoting their personal and professional development.
The education and training at the MIEEK Public School, the announcement continues, are provided in state-of-the-art laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and teaching is done by highly qualified academic staff and renowned professionals from the workplace. In addition to theoretical and laboratory courses, the course includes mandatory practical training in Industry.
"Studying at the MIEEK Public School ensures the smooth integration of graduates into the labor market, through the knowledge, abilities and skills they acquire, with an emphasis on the development of digital and green skills. Furthermore, their integration into the labor market is ensured through their familiarization with the use of new technologies, the implementation of innovative teaching methods, as well as the utilization of practices used in international institutions of higher vocational education and training. Furthermore, New Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are utilized in the learning process, with the aim of familiarizing and simultaneously preparing students in the use of ICT, essential tools in the labor market," the announcement concludes.
