Blue Monday: Today is the saddest day of the year

In recent years, the third Monday in January, "Blue Monday", as it is called internationally, is the most melancholy day of the year. This is a theory supported by many people around the world as well as many scientists who have conducted relevant research.
This year, the most melancholy day of the year falls on January 20th.

But why is Blue Monday the depressing day of the year? Is it the feeling that our holidays are saying goodbye? Is it that we have returned to work or is it just the fact that "it is Monday again"?

The answers to the questions that concern us are given by the psychologist Dr Cliff Arnall, who in 2005 made an equation in his attempt to find the worst day of the year. Where did he base his research? He combined the bad weather of January, the debts of December and the psychological state of the person after Christmas and found that this day is the third Monday of each year.

Dr. Cliff quickly found many supporters. Nutritionist Alison Clark points out that January is the month we are faced with the obligations and the harsh reality after the relaxation of the holidays. For her part, debt economist Jane Clack, a British economist, points out that many consumers go shopping with credit cards during the holidays, often a little more than their pockets can afford, and now face debt.

But we do not fly! All we have to do is put on our best smile and say that it's just a Monday and it will pass.
