Hartsiotis: Premeditated incidents - Responsibilities in KOP

"Premeditated and pre-planned, with the aim of endangering human lives and property" the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Marios Hartsiotis, characterized the episodes, expressing, at the same time, strong annoyance at the way the KOP leadership handled the matter.

Speaking to the Morning Route, the Minister of Justice stated that the information about the incidents was transferred to the KOP, the Federation was warned that the measure of the ban on the movement of fans should be extended, but the President of the Federation, Giorgos Koumas, assured, after contact with the Presidents of the unions, that "everything will go smoothly", despite the call to review the decision.

Marios Hartsiotis expressed displeasure because, despite the use of torches in stadiums, during the first matchday of the championship, the involved teams were only punished with a fine.

Asking for the exemplary punishment of all those involved, the Minister of Justice and Public Order stressed that everyone should consider what would have happened in the stadium, if the match had been held, when entire arsenals, with naval flares, molotov cocktails, stones and torches.

Mr. Hartsiotis noted that the final decision to cancel the match was made by the security manager of the stadium together with the referee, who found the complete insecurity prevailing in the stadium.
