Thousands of cars will be immobilized, if tomorrow the Plenary Session of the Parliament approves the law proposal for the immobilization of vehicles with defective or inappropriate parts.
This is what the director of the Road Transport Department, Giorgos Loukas, said in the Morning Route, stressing that the Ministry of Transport will study plans and social policy measures to help the owners of immobilized vehicles.
"We are studying", he said, "and how other states dealt with similar situations".
The President of the Transport Committee of the Parliament, Marinos Mousioutas, told RIK that between suffering and the safety of the citizens, safety comes first.
Mr Musiouttas called on the state to find ways to alleviate the problem and provide assistance to vehicle owners.
The law proposal, which will be discussed at tomorrow's Plenary Session of the Parliament, provides for a procedure to immobilize motor vehicles, which are subject to recall due to defective or inappropriate components.
