International Nurses Brothers Day has been celebrated annually since 1965 on May 12, at the initiative of the International Nurses Brothers Council.
This celebration wants to remind all of us of the invaluable contribution of nurses in every society. Nursing, in general, is considered one of the most underrated and underpaid professions.
May 12 was established as International Nursing Brothers Day to commemorate the 1820 birth of Florence Nightingale, the Anglo-Italian philanthropist considered the founder of modern nursing.
This day becomes more meaningful this year, as the nurses together with the medical staff give an unprecedented battle with the pandemic.
From all of us, a big thank you to the front line fighters!
