In a two-hour work stoppage, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., today, Monday, the members of the PASYKI, PASYNO and the PASYDY Nurses Branch descend on the TAEP of the General Hospital, as a reaction measure against aggressive behavior against the nursing and medical staff at the TAEP, while at 10 of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis will receive the General Secretary and members of the Pancypriot Nurses Union, in the presence of the Minister of Health Michalis Damianos.
Only category 1 and 2 triage emergencies will be served during the stop, the unions said in a joint statement.
In their announcement, the guilds PASYKI, PA.SY.NO. and the PASYDY Branch of Nurses, "denounce aggressive behavior and actions against the nursing and medical staff at the TAEP during the performance of their duties" and ask the authorities to realize the seriousness of the matter "and to finally implement their promises".
The perpetrator of the attack remains at large
In addition, a police announcement states that Christos Modestou, 29, is wanted as part of an investigation into the offenses of attempted murder, acts intended to cause bodily harm, threats, assault causing actual bodily harm, possession and transportation of an offensive instrument and others.
