Blood and blood product stocks are at reduced levels, with the Ministry of Health sounding the alarm about the needs that remain increased.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Health states that the reduced attraction of blood donors, combined with the increased needs of patients for transfusions and blood derivatives (red blood cells, plasma, platelets), in the context of treatments, surgeries and emergency treatment, "affects blood adequacy."
It calls on citizens who meet the conditions and are in good health to come to the blood donation centers of Cyprus, in order to strengthen the available supplies.
"The contribution of blood donors is essential to meeting needs," emphasizes the competent Ministry.
