At around 3:30 a.m. today, members of the Police spotted a car moving suspiciously in an area of the village of Tsiakkilero in Larnaca.
After the driver of the vehicle was signaled to stop using lights and a siren, he accelerated, driving recklessly and dangerously, committing various traffic violations.
Police members followed the suspicious vehicle which was eventually stopped in an area in Livadia.
During the subsequent inspection, it was determined that the driver was a 25-year-old man with a 25-year-old passenger. Both the occupants of the car and the car were taken to the Aradippou Police Station for further examinations.
There, it was found that the 25-year-old was driving the vehicle with a suspended driver's license and without a safety certificate.
A search of the car followed, where various burglary tools were found, while two knives were found in the 25-year-old's possession.
A glasses case containing a small amount of crystal methamphetamine, a folding bat, six pairs of designer sunglasses, and a wristwatch were found in the 25-year-old's possession. For the above items, the 25-year-old was unable to provide satisfactory explanations regarding their origin and possession.
The above individuals were arrested for flagrant offenses and are expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court this morning for their detention proceedings.
