In the church of Agios Nikolaos in the village of Fterikoudi, the holy relics of Agios Abvakoum were transferred, on the day of the feast of Agios Abvakoum and Agios Porfirios, with the instructions of the Metropolitan of Tamasos and Orini, Isaiah.
A statement from the Metropolis states that "amidst a climate of emotion and overwhelm by the faithful, the holy relics of Saint Habakkuk were re-placed in their old place, before the creation of the sanctuary in the area".
They will remain in the village church for pilgrimage, until the re-opening of the Holy Monastery of Abvakum, it is added. Part of the holy relics, as the announcement states, even after the reopening of the Monastery, will remain in the holy church of Agios Nikolaos Fterikoudi, as was the old tradition of the church.
