On the occasion of related complaints and after an investigation, two tutoring centers were identified, which are said to be operating without the necessary licenses, the Association of Private Tutors of Cyprus (SFIK) says in today's announcement.
The Association refers to recent actions, in cooperation with the competent authorities "in the context of combating the operation of unlicensed educational structures". These actions aim to ensure the quality of the education provided and to comply with the legislation governing the private education sector, it added.
As he notes, the case of one of them is at the stage of investigation by the competent police authorities, while a criminal file has already been filed for the second tutoring school.
According to the SIFK, this case has been forwarded to the District Court for further legal proceedings, with a hearing scheduled for the near future.
He says that compliance with the regulations for the operation of private tutoring schools is a fundamental condition for the orderly operation of the educational community, while adding that the unlicensed operation of structures not only violates the law, but also undermines educational integrity, while "it may endanger the quality of services received by students and their families".
At the same time, it expresses its commitment to continue to work closely with the competent authorities to combat such phenomena, providing the required support at every stage of the process, while calling on the public to carefully choose the educational services they receive, ensuring the legitimacy and licensing of tutoring schools.
