In 2023, 68,8% of Cypriots lived in their own home, slightly below the EU average (69,2%), according to data released by Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union.
31,2% of Cypriots lived in rented accommodation during the same period, slightly above the EU average (30,8%).
The highest ownership rates among Member States in 2023 were recorded in Romania (95,6%), Slovakia (93,6%) and Croatia (91,2%).
The lowest percentages were recorded in Germany (47,6%), Austria (54,3%) and Denmark (60,0%).
