The Pancypriot Pharmaceutical Association (PFS) decided in its meeting, to refrain from drawing up the Two-Day Tables, notifying the decision to the Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Association states that in a letter to the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Elena Panagiotopoulou, it states that the issue of timetables as well as the two days, fall under the same decree and are interrelated, therefore one begins when the other ends.
Citing the reasons for the decision, PFS President Plutarchos Georgiadis points out that, "the tolerance of PFS has run out as, for 2 years, the adjudication of the appeal of individual numbers of colleagues regarding the working hours has been pending, at the same time that the rights are being violated of a large portion of pharmacists".
The President of the PFS clarified that some pharmacies do not observe the opening hours - either because they are illegal or because they have secured an "interimorder" from the court - with the result that it comes at the expense of the two-day pharmacy.
